SCSL expects coaches to make every effort to play their games as scheduled. However, it is understood that due to circumstances beyond our control it is sometimes necessary to reschedule a game.
All communications with the league should take place through your club delegate. Club delegates are in a position to help organize your club's activities and field schedules.
Games are rescheduled through the HOME club's SCSL delegate. The visiting club's delegate should always be notified of schedule changes (ie cc'd on emails) as well as the hosting club's delegate if the game is scheduled to be played at a neutral field.
Here is the procedure to use when your game must be rescheduled,
Some things to note:
The Suburban Counties Soccer League is honored to announce the creation of the Jason Fox Scholarship Award. Jason Fox was a highly respected President of the league for nearly a decade. He volunteered his time alongside his wife Suzie to help bring recreational youth soccer to the area, giving youth a place to play soccer within our league. He served as a volunteer referee, coach, as well as the Intramural Director and Treasurer for the Boyertown Soccer Club, for many years as well. Jason Graduated from Millersville University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and went on the obtain a master’s degree from Rochester Institute of Technology. Yes, volunteering to do all he did for the soccer community, was for the love of the game. Sadly, Jason passed away unexpectedly in 2021. The league would like to remember Jason, his spirit and values, by awarding a student, who exemplifies Jason’s dedication to youth soccer and commitment to their pursuit of higher education, with this yearly Scholarship. Review the application from the "Downloads" section above for more details.
"What are the referee fees?" That's a question we get asked all season. So here's the breakdown coaches:
U10 = each team pays $23/game
U12 = each team pays $28/game
U14 = each team pays $33/game
U16 = each team pays $38 to the center ref
+ $49 for an AR / game = $87 total
U19 = each team pays $45 to the center ref
+ $55 for an AR / game = $100 total
Hot tip: Place the money in 2 separate envelopes prior to the game one with the exact amount for the center and one for the AR and mark the outside accordingly. If you do this the referee will appreciate it...maybe you'll get a few more calls your way too. (joking of course). Do not attempt to give the referee large bills. Remember the fees may need to be broken up for the AR.
It is the coach's responsibility to pay the referee prior to the game. Remember your referee fees...don't make the ref go running around to your club house or elsewhere to obtain the fees.
Lastly, if the game gets cancelled at the field...pay the referee. They drove to your location and prepared for the game. They are entitled to the payment for their time.
